  • Founding member of Bridgeway Health Associates, a health care consulting group focusing on providing program management services in the areas of education, curriculum development, training, program evaluation and research for health-focused clients. (2000-Present)

Co-founder, Associate Director – Community-Campus Partnerships for Health, San Francisco, CA

  • Co-developed a national organization designed to foster partnerships between health professions schools and communities. Provided strategic direction for the development of the organization's training/technical assistance programs and consultation services. Developed relationships with funding agencies and authored successful funding proposals. Managed a $1 million annual budget. Served as principal investigator to awarded grant programs targeting nursing, public health, pharmacy and dental leaders. Gained national visibility for the organization through speaking engagements before key audiences and leaders in the field. Published numerous peer-reviewed articles in academic magazines and journals, particularly in the area of faculty development. Developed proposal criteria and review process for grant-making activities and supported leaders in meeting their objectives. Launched the development of the organization's magazine Partnership Perspectives. Hired and supervised all staff. (1996-2000)

Program Coordinator – University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Center for the Health Professions

  • Managed and budgeted resources of $2.4 million for a national grant-making initiative program entitled Health Professions Schools in Service to the Nation. Designed and implemented program activities including training/technical assistance and consultation to a network of 20 health professions schools institutionalizing community-based curricula. Developed proposal criteria and review process for grant-making activities. Gained national visibility for the program through speaking engagements before key audiences and leaders in the field. Published numerous peer-reviewed articles in academic magazines and journals. Organized national conferences for audiences comprised of over 500 health professions educators and community leaders. (1995-1998)

Researcher/Writer – Department of Public Health/Women’s Health Advisory Committee, San Francisco, CA

  • Assisted the Women’s Health Advisory Committee in conducting research and writing of report examining women’s health care and services throughout the city of San Francisco. Directed and organized 19 focus group discussions with diverse communities of women. Budgeted resources for the development and implementation of research concerning women’s health care report. (1993-1994)

Health Educator – Bafia Health Care Clinic, Cameroon, Africa

  • Created, implemented and instructed family planning services for women and their families with Cameroonian health care workers. Educated youth in HIV awareness and prevention. Lived on-site in health care clinic. (1990)
